P R O D U C T I O N

27 Wagons Full of Cotton displays the events following a fire that broke out on a neighboring plantation. Flora and Jake are owners of a cotton gin that is lacking in business and because of this fire Silva, the owner of the devastated plantation, must bring his business to Jake. This play revolves primarily around Flora who, surrounded by men who wish to lay claim to her, attempts to find her own source of control. In this production, we sought to highlight William's description of Flora's home as a dollhouse, as well as the fragility and delicacy that Flora is confined to as well as her effort to break free.
